Student Guidelines

How to Order 

  1. Read through this page first. Then review the following:

  2. If you need an event space, reserve it via the USD Event Management System. Please work with the building scheduler (for the building in which you reserve a space) to secure components for your event
    (such as room set-up, number of tables and chairs etc.)

     

  3. Once a space is reserved, place your catering order a minimum of 14 business days prior to your event date: 

Successful Catering Planning

Our sales office is available to assist you with planning your meeting or event. Here are a few key points to think about when planning your next event: 

  • Who is the main contact person for the event?

  • Number of people to be served.

  • Type of food you are interested in ordering.

  • What is your budget? Who is paying for the event, and do you have a Workday code?

  • Will you need linens, flowers, or other decorations?

See below for our specially priced student menus. You may also choose from the standard Catering Menu. If you prefer choices outside of these options, customization is available. Our diverse, talented, team of chefs are able to create a myriad of cuisine from around the globe. Gluten-free, lactose-free, Kosher, Halal, vegetarian, vegan, and any other special dietary meals can also be provided upon request (additional fees may apply).


Outside Food Vendors

USD Catering is the university's exclusive caterer. Revenue goes back to the university annually to support students and campus programs. You may not bring in any outside, unapproved, catering vendors or food to campus without prior approval.

 

If you would like to request approval to use an outside vendor to bring food onto campus, please review the process here.

Specially Priced Student Menus

Our specially priced student group menus allow USD student organizations to provide top quality food items for their guests at affordable prices. A minimum order of 10 items per order is required.


Sandwich Combo: $10.25 per person

Choice of Green Salad or Chips with choice of one Sandwich:

  • Torero Club - Roasted Turkey, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Cheddar Cheese, Sliced Tomato, Lettuce, Herb Aioli

  • Roast Beef - Roast Beef, Fontina Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Baby Arugula, Mustard Aioli

  • Classic Turkey Sandwich - Roasted Sliced Turkey Breast, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato

  • Chicken Caesar Wrap - Roasted Chicken Breast, Mozzarella Cheese, Parmesan Cheese, Lettuce, Creamy Caesar Dressing

  • Vegan Wrap - Roasted Seasonal Vegetables, Avocado, Hummus

 

Individual Salads: $9.55 per person

  • Classic (VGT, GF) Baby Greens, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Carrot Threads, Shallot Vinaigrette Caesar Romaine Lettuce, Herbed Croutons, Parmesan Cheese, Caesar Dressing

  • Southwest Chopped (VGT, GF) Chopped Romaine, Black Beans, Roasted Corn, Cotija Cheese, Tomatoes, Chipotle Ranch

  • Mediterranean (VGT) Mixed Greens, Marinated Artichokes, Tomatoes, Kalamata Olives, Red Peppers, Red Onion, Potatoes, Feta and Balsamic Vinaigrette

 

Meals on the Go: 

  • Sandwich Box: $12.50 per person

    • Includes Deli Sandwich with Potato Chips, Apple, Cookie, Bottled Water

  • Chicken Sandwich Combo: $11.95 per person

    • Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich with Tomatoes, Lettuce, and Pickles. Chips, Cookie, Bottled Water

  • Subs (6"): $9.00 each

    • Select 1 flavor per 15 guests: Italian, Caprese, or Turkey and Swiss, with Potato Chips 

  • Burritos: $8.95 each

    • Choice of Chicken Asada or Carne Asada with Refried Beans and Mexican Rice wrapped in a Flour Tortilla with all the Toppings

  • Pizzas: $15.00 each Pizza

    • Cheese, Pepperoni, Sausage, or Vegetarian

Buffets:

  • Mexican Fiesta: $12.95 per person (requires Chef at additional cost) 

    • Mexican Fiesta requires a Chef at an additional cost

    • Choice of two: Carnitas, Barbacoa or Pollo Asado. With Caesar Salad, Mexican Rice,
      Refried Beans, Bottled Water*

 

  • Southern Fried Chicken: $12.95 per person

    • Slaw Mix, Succotash, Macaroni and Cheese, Fried Chicken, Corn Bread, Bottled Water
       

  • Mediterranean Market: $12.95 per person

    • Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Tabbouleh, Falafel, Chicken Kebabs, Bottled Water

      • Vegetarian Kebabs available upon request

 

  • Backyard BBQ: $14.95 per person (requires Chef and Attendant at additional costs) 

    • Hamburgers, Veggie Burgers, Hot Dogs, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, American Cheese,
      Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickles, Bulk Kettle Chips, Watermelon, Bottled Water 

    • Choice of one Salad: Red Potato or Pasta 

 

  • BBQ Pit: $15.50 per person (requires Chef and Attendant at additional costs) 

    • BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork and Brisket, Corn on the Cob, Cole Slaw, Biscuits, Bottled Water

 

  • Italian Kitchen: $12.95 per person

    • Italian Market Salad, Meat Lasagna, Vegetarian Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Cookies or Brownies,
      Bottled Water

 

  • Pasta Feast: $12.95 per person

    • Pasta tossed with Marinara, Meat or Alfredo Sauce. Served with a Classic Green Salad and Assorted Dressings, Garlic Bread, Cookies or Brownies, Bottled Water

 

  • Indian Bazaar: $12.95 per person

    • Chicken Masala, Beef Kabobs, Cucumber Raita, Basmati Rice, Bottled Water
       

  • Thai Feast: $11.75 per person

    • Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Yellow Chicken Curry, Jasmine Rice, Bottled Water

*Bottled water may be substituted with canned soda
